HERstory: Love Forever

HERstory: Love Forever

The Kennedy Center
2700 F Street, NW Washington

This riveting, inspiring hip-hop tinged play is a 90-minute roller coaster down memory lane and an astute testimony to the role of women in rap. The genre, personified as a woman known as H.E.R. (taken from Common's 1994 hit "I Used to Love H.E.R."), is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and on her deathbed. The world seems to care little about the threat of losing her until five women of unlikely, diverse, and often opposing views show up unexpectedly at the hospital. Each with her own agenda, the women represent all elements and eras of hip hop, both the good and traumatic. Don't miss this unique exploration of hip hop from the female perspective at The Kennedy Center's Family Theater in Washington, D.C.
